HTC Aero launch set to crash the new Nexus announcement

Everyone is talking about the new Nexus devices from LG and Huawei, and those are heavily rumoured for an announcement by Google on September 29, but it seems HTC may crash the party.

HTC has decided to announce an event on September 29 in Hakone, Japan with an advert that states "double flagship." Could this be the launch of the much rumoured HTC Aero?

The ad pictures some mountains, the number two and the words "the worlds best meets the best" in English.

It comes from trusted Twitter leaker @upleaks who found the advert on Chinese social networking site Weibo. We've reached out to a HTC representative for confirmation and we'll keep you updated when they return comment.

Crashed the party

HTC may be planning to announce a series of Asia exclusive devices and it may not be concerned by the competition from the Nexus camp.

That said, it may also just be a genius piece of marketing to go head-to-head with their former Nexus bosses and take the new announcement head on.

Times have not been announced for either event yet, so it's not clear which of these announcements will come first – we'll keep our eyes peeled for more details as they arrive.
