LG G5 release date: when and where can I get it?

Update: You can now buy the LG G5 in the UK. If you've pre-ordered your phone should be in your palm or at least on its way already. If you're still to buy, you're looking at £529 SIM-free , while contracts are starting at £31 per month. See our round-up of all the best LG G5 deals available for pre-order.

It's all change at the top in the flagship smartphone world, as after the slightly disappointing G4, LG has pulled out all the stops for its next flagship.

The LG G5 comes with a 5.3-inch QHD screen, a dual-lens camera, a metal body, a 'magic slot' for customisable hardware and enough power to go blow-for-blow with the Samsung Galaxy S7.

If you're already impressed, you might be wondering where you can get it and how much it will cost you. If you're in that camp, you're in luck, as we'll bring you all the information from retailers and networks as it's revealed, with this article constantly updated with the information from all the UK's top outlets.

EE

EE is stocking the LG G5 - hurrah - and its best selling deal costs £9.99 upfront and has a monthly cost of £39.99. EE did offer free B&O headphones to all those who pre-ordered, but now those have all gone.

You can pay as little as £29.99 per month if that's your aim, but you'll have to stump up £99.99 upfront and you'll get just 1GB of data. If you order online today, you will be dispatched the phone in the next 7 days or you can walk directly into a store and walk out with one in your hand.

O2

O2 has now opened up orders for the LG G5 and with 1GB of data, unlimited texts and unlimited it will cost £36 a month. The most expensive deal offers 30GB of data a month, but it'll cost you £53 a month.

Vodafone

Vodafone is now stocking the LG G5 even though it didn't have a pre-order system live. One of the best deals costs £9 upfront but is £34 a month after that with unlimited calls and texts as well as 2GB of data each month.

If you're in the first 3,000 orders you'll also get a free LG Cam Plus add-on, which is usually worth £79.99.

Carphone Warehouse

Carphone Warehouse currently has the cheapest LG G5 SIM-free price with its web exclusive offering just £499.99.

If you don't have that sort of money to part with right now, Carphone also offers a range of tariffs from EE, Vodafone, O2 and iD. You can get yourself a free LG G5 on O2 for £37.50 per month, with 1GB of data and unlimited calls and texts.

Those who order soon also get a set of B&O Play headphones worth £149 for free.

Three

Bad news Three fans, the network has confirmed to techradar that it won't be stocking the LG G5. :(

However, a spokersperson for the network told us "LG remains a valued partner of ours and we are constantly reviewing our portfolio."

Other retailers

Over on Mobiles.co.uk you can still pre-order the LG G5. Deals include a free handset from O2 at £31 per month with 3GB of data as well as unlimited calls and texts.

If you want to grab the LG G5 SIM free, MobileFun has its pre-orders open and an asking price of £529.

Pre-orders are also open at Expansys, with the SIM free LG G5 priced at £529.99 and both the Titan (grey) and silver colour variants available.

Meanwhile, Clove has the Titan, silver and gold LG G5 handsets up for pre-order, all of which are priced at £529. There's free B&O in-ear headphones (worth £149) and a £30 off voucher for LG's friend range thrown in too. It expects to have stock on April 14.

Unlocked-Mobiles also has the trio of colours available for pre-order, with a SIM free price of £529.98. And it also gives us a tentative LG G5 release date of April 13.
